Piffle. Massive propaganda, slime-filled "reality" humiliation shows, the never-ending bark of the well-off from their marble homes, granite banks, stainless media enclaves ... I doubt very much this has much to do with "general human psychology". It has to do with defining slime-ball bankers as "betters" and working-class Americans as "lowers", and letting the argument rage thereupon.
