One last post before I leave the office after another exhaustive day 
representing bankrupt real estate developers.  The fundamental issue and my 
abhorrence has nothing to with some empirical argument concerning charter 
schools or vouchers or anything.  I know better than to get into a debate on 
this list regarding the empirical merits.   Go back to my original post.  My 
abhorrence rests on the progressive mindset/principal that would deny little 
Johnny the benefit of the alternative even if were a stipulated fact that the 
alternative school would be better for little Johnny.  The fundamental issue is 
whether a good society tells llittle Johnny's parents that because it is in the 
best interest of other children, little Johnny should get a worse education 
than he otherwise could have.
