I see "poverty" as being defined by the vicious circle of poverty: If
someone lives below the poverty line thus defined, it means that in
order to continue to exist as a human being in society, she or he must
either use up assets such as health and personal property or borrow in
hopes of a better future. Either one makes poverty worse. Aid from
others can make it less severe.
