somewhere in this thread (or maybe in another) someone asked what that slogan could mean in practice in 2009. That's a good question, as with all about conflicts between theory and practice. Obviously, no-one could turn that slogan into reality instantly and overnight in the US (and I won't presume to talk about other countries). But it does set the frame for any "progressive" efforts: does your labor contract or progressive reform (or whatever) help or hinder the movement toward abolishing the wage system? (i.e., capitalism with its system of proletarianized labor-power.) does it strengthen or weaken the working class, helping or hindering its movement toward being a class for itself? -- Jim Devine / "Segui il tuo corso, e lascia dir le genti."
