C, You breezed right by my question, which was, would a progressive primary
challenge to Obama permanently drive black voters out of the DP (and to the
right)?

^^^^
CB: "and to the right". Supporting Obama in that primary would not
be _moving_ to the right from where Black people have been as I said
in my breezy answer.

Do u mean a successful , progressive primary challenge might cause
some Black people to boycott the general ? Maybe. The reason would be
they have witnessed the most disgusting slandering, stupid, lying
attack on Obama including from white progressives as a sort of
rightwing fifth column on the "left". Permanently ? That's not a
serious question from someone as savvy as Max. Barack or Michelle
Obama might come back and win again in 2016, especially after people
would look back and realize how stupid they are acting toward Obama
right now. Anyway, the idea that Black people are the leftist voting
bloc in America for a long time not based on substantive issues but
because of superficial attachment to a Black President is insulting to
Black people. My brother and I were for Edwards over Obama in the
early primaries in '08. In Detroit, with 85% Black majority, White
progressive Maryann Mahaffey used to get the most votes for City
Council over seven other Councilmembers who were Black, et al.
