The article is first rate.
The reactor in japan causing the problem is one of the worst designs being a 
pressurised water cooled one, if even this has caused very little damage 
despite a huge natural disaster, then we can be reasonably confident about more 
modern designs in non-earthquake zones.

What he says about the need for energy is right on. Solar and wind power are 
only viable for base load with a world wide high voltage grid.

I thought Monbiot was generally sensible.  I think I'm generally
sensible and have great distrust of the long- and short- term safety
of nuclear power.

Does Monbiot make any obvious errors in his article?  What is he
overlooking?
