While the availability of inexpensive and voluntary birth control (including abortions) helps, fighting poverty and the subordination of women (which both include improved basic education) seems to be the most effective way to slow population growth. Of course, elite decision-makers are often rich males, who don't want to help the poor (especially since it involves redistribution) or women. -- Jim DevineĀ / "Segui il tuo corso, e lascia dir le genti."
