Oh, and you can't install Linux/BSD/Windows on a Mac machine ? That's news to me. I see tons of people who buy Mac machines and run their favorite flavor of free or non free software. > Apple on the other hand is a monopoly. Well, I've never heard about Apple going after individuals who'd run OSX on their non Mac machines. And Apple is actually making it easier to run virtual instances of OSX. And unlike Windows 8, having OSX preinstalled on your machine does not mean you can't erase it and install something else in place. As a hardware maker, I strongly doubt they even consider that. Conversely, Microsoft, as a software maker _must_ consider such options. Apple is not forcing you to use the services and software they sell/provide but Apple's policy is to not license the software to OEMs. You may not like that, but why would you care since you are admittedly a proponent of free software and OSX is not free ? OSX is not free software. It is not. Get over that. You can't use OSX freely. It may be dirt cheap but it comes with strings.
