Output of "material goods"? You mean physical output? Tons of cement?
Nails? Gigatons of Greenhouse Gases? Emissions are outputs, too, you know.
Oh, but they're not "goods". They're bads. So do you subtract the output of
bads from the output of goods or do you just ignore them? The ecology wants
to know.
