So, if I understand you right, you believe that there is no plausible
change in government policy in the United States that would make working
people significantly better off. Therefore, there is no reason to
meaningfully contest elections in the United States.

If so, I don't believe your premise. I wonder to what degree third-party
efforts in the United States are motivated by such a premise. It would make
a certain kind of sense. Why would people advocate a strategy that is
obviously doomed to fail? One possibility is that they believe that every
possible strategy is doomed to fail, and therefore, which doomed strategy
you choose to support is just a matter of personal preference.
