That's "just" a Configure issue.  Someone just has to convince Jarkko or
me that it's worthwhile losing sleep to implement the appropriate
Configure probes and then coordinate with all the various platform porters
to get the specifics right for as many platforms as possible.  It's messy
and will take a fair amount of work, but it's not a fundamental
showstopper.
