How selective and for what reasons is the point. Are we having
a technical or political discussion? ;-)

Misattribution, BTW, could come in handy, too, such as this:

Whether or not these things further your point of view, they
certainly don't preserve the meaning of the thread and don't
help clarity in any other way.
