I was thinking about something like a Klein bottle shape - like the following:

http://plus.maths.org/issue26/features/mathart/index-gifd.html

Kind of has the PDL built in to the shape as well as it is a recognizable shape
for science...

Subject: [Perldl] New PDL logo

Hello,

I want to put together a PDL logo. The logo will be used on the website front
page to make quick links like Download, Quick Start and Support, in a style
similar to what SciPy has done (http://scipy.org).
The PDL logo would also be a good candidate for the PDL desktop icon if we ever
make an all-in-one PDL distribution that comes with an IDE.

Last time I asked for opinions on logos I didn't get any responses, so I
decided to put together some ideas myself. This is what I came up
with:

Please tell me what you think. There are four possible logos here, labeled A,
B, C, D. I you would like to experiment with some of these ideas, here is the
original SVG file:
http://pdl.perl.org/images/pdl-logos.svg. You can edit it with Inkscape
(http://inkscape.org).

Cheers,
Daniel.
