When we had a potted plant in an exhibition, we asked that they were repotted in fresh sterilised soil (as we were under the assumption any heat or chemical treatment would kill off pests). We also stipulated no watering in the galleries. This was in a gallery with no daylight, so we ended up having a few that could be switched out so they didn't die!
