Just remeasured mine by hand. The adult is indeed about 1cm, or 3/8", nowhere
near 3/4". The nymphs are a little smaller.

Thanks, Stephan, for some pictures and PDF. Your ID and those pictures make
sense from your geography in middle Europe. Not sure about the ones here being
from Maine.

Hi Louis,

in Middle Europe we have different wood roaches and some reports of new species.

I find them here in South Germany often in storage rooms or other buildings
during summer time on blunder traps.

Actually the classification of a wood roach is Superfamily
Blaberoidea<https://nam02.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fbugguide.net%2Fnode%2Fview%2F601958%2Ftree&data=02%7C01%7Cmquigley%40bowdoin.edu%7C17da31a865204bae830508d8301203ef%7C984e32e5f98a4600aa3227c3f948abe3%7C1%7C0%7C637312201241192403&sdata=Oo3iqnkYDxBVq3lJnYV25Raftj2KgO3FKm2GC4SSGwA%3D&reserved=0>,
Family Ectobiidae, Subfamily Blattellinae, Genus Parcoblatta (Wood
Cockroaches). These have been commonly encountered roaches. German roach would
be in this subfamily, too. Oriental cockroach in Superfamily
Blattoidea<https://nam02.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fbugguide.net%2Fnode%2Fview%2F601959%2Ftree&data=02%7C01%7Cmquigley%40bowdoin.edu%7C17da31a865204bae830508d8301203ef%7C984e32e5f98a4600aa3227c3f948abe3%7C1%7C0%7C637312201241192403&sdata=TuLsW2dYJUBoxULHJT9w1FQPLeTVIuZKNPqsH%2FBcRCo%3D&reserved=0>,
 Family
Blattidae<https://nam02.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fbugguide.net%2Fnode%2Fview%2F31605%2Ftree&data=02%7C01%7Cmquigley%40bowdoin.edu%7C17da31a865204bae830508d8301203ef%7C984e32e5f98a4600aa3227c3f948abe3%7C1%7C0%7C637312201241202365&sdata=3gVX8iiRyvb%2B4IBNuFBte6U9SMmlAtyN1D0J0nE1NlA%3D&reserved=0>.
However, I'm not sure the unknown is a wood roach.

Hi Michael,

I looks for me like the roaches-family „Ectobiinae„. Guest from outside (trees)

And not Germanica or Orentalis...

Hi,

I'm wondering if someone can confirm my fear that these are in fact a German
adult and two nymphs.

They were found in a loading dock area on three separate traps, in opposite
corners of the room, April 1 - July 1. The loading dock is part of a newly
refurbished building and has some leaky spots to the outside that we haven't
been able to address yet. I've been monitoring the space since the fall, and
this is the first I've seen of them.

Thanks,

Mike
