A colleague working at another museum has been faced with the problem of cleaning a diorama populated with museum objects, reproductions and props that have been in contact with mice (droppings, gnawing, etc.). Mice infected with hantavirus are a known problem in the region where this museum is located. I understand that UV exposure is an effective way to degrade the virus but I wanted to know if anyone has any further recommendations for treating/cleaning objects exposed to infected mice.
