Er, yes there must be! Thanks for the heads up, I'd forgotten it was that close to the end of the month. > While I am on, can anyone recommend a good ISP for home hosting. Personally I'd avoid home hosting, unless there's a good reason for it. Assuming you go for a decent "8Mbps" ADSL connection (I used the quotes because you're unlikely to get more than 5-6Mbps in reality), then the upload speed from your site (and therefore the total download bandwidth from your site available to its visitors) is about 400k (and that'll pretty much kill your connection for your own use). This is factor of how ADSL works so shopping around won't gain you anything. I can't remember what the upstream rates are for NTL but they're not that different. Of-course you could go to SDSL (where you get the same up and down) but then you're talking a lot more cash - about £200/month I think. For that you could get yourself a proper host and have plenty of beer money left over. > There must be one out there somewhere ! I don't think there is, sorry! At least not for comparable hosting prices. And proper hosting has lots of other benefits (like not being reliant on your ADSL line, your PC uptime, etc). -- Mark Rogers More Solutions Ltd :: 0845 45 89 555 _______________________________________________ Peterboro mailing list [email protected] https://mailman.lug.org.uk/mailman/listinfo/peterboro
