I know that the Phone Coop have just replaced their billing system (it was needed due to their growth) and that's caused us a couple of minor headaches (we're a TPC agent). Certainly as ADSL providers I would recommend them (our agent ID is 291 if you want to give us credit!), but I don't think that ADSL is right for what Stu is trying to do. ADSL is right for a lot of other things, though! ASIDE: Something I have mentioned before is that TPC allow the creation of "affinity" schemes. We could, for example, create a scheme that meant that anyone signing up through it would contribute 6% of their spend to the affinity account to be used to raise money for some cause (eg something FOSS related). That would be on all ADSL subs and phone calls put through The Phone Coop. It wouldn't be worth it for half a dozen sign-ups, so I don't think that something Peterborough-centred would generate enough revenue to be worthwhile, but if there's a wider interest its something we should consider. I also think that we could do a lot to promote FOSS to TPC; they offer billing in (eg) Excel file formats and use a lot of MS software internally (I have contacts there!) but FOSS is a good fit for their business model. As I say I have the contacts, I just need someone to help me make the case. They're based near Chipping Norton (a bit south of Oxford) so a trip to see them would be a possibility. Since they are quite vocal themselves about what they believe in, adding FOSS to the list of things they believe in would be a Good Thing [tm]. -- Mark Rogers More Solutions Ltd :: 0845 45 89 555 _______________________________________________ Peterboro mailing list [email protected] https://mailman.lug.org.uk/mailman/listinfo/peterboro
