There is a nice AJAX (web) client that looks similar to Outlook web access (or
any other e-mail client). Alternatively because it is built on a lot of the
standard tools (e.g. postfix) you can access it via IMAP, POP, etc..

What protocol(s) does it calendar speak and what clients do we have
for it? AJAX is not really web, as it doesn't work on lots of small
device web browsers, which is where a calendar is really useful.

Thanks for the info,

Zimbra uses webdav for the calendar, and POP/IMAP for message transport. I've been using Zimbra for about a year without issues, installation was a breeze, and their forums are a great source of support.

As far as desktop clients go, it works with almost anything that supports these protocols. Personally I use Thunderbird for both mail and calendaring (using the lightspeed plugin). I have used Outlook and Notes for the mail side, hadn't managed to get the calendar to work though - their Network Edition (the one you pay for) provides a native Outlook plugin to facilitate this. Evolution is a strange bugger though, mail works a breeze but the calendar aspect just didn't want to play :( Haven't had much time to play around with it recently, on my todo list.

The next release will have a migration from Domino option, currently already supports migrating from Exchange. If you want to migrate from any IMAP server then you can use imapsync.

Regards,

Andy
