Hmm. Everything you did below I did, apart from anything to do with NVIDIA because my GFX card is ATI Rage. Everything seems to work for me but I just seem to have an issue getting "Beryl" to render the windows properly when I use transparency. Compiz likes the transparency but I cant cet the desktops on a cube to work in Compiz.
I might have a nother look in "restricted drivers" that might be causing my problems. Sorry Ed, the problems you are having go a bit beyond my capabilities. Maybe if you bring down your PC to the meeting we can have a tinker. Cheers Richard
