Although I searched Google, I didn't think to mention the specific
resolution, which seems silly now that you mention it.

Looks like I need a new graphics card... How do I find out which cards
support 1400x1050?

What I'm not clear about from reading what Google now shows me:
- Given that I have managed to get 1400x1050, but just not managed to
keep it past a reboot/monitor power cycle/etc, is this actually my problem?
- Is this a problem that affects Windows, and if not why not?
