Hi all,
I am trying to get a VM of Ubuntu server to work.
It runs OK, but there is no network connectivity.
I have done a bit of Googling, and so far I have got this:
Attempts to ping my network result in my being told that "Network is
unreachable."
I have tried restarting the network
# /etc/init.d/networking restart
eth0: ERROR while getting interface flags: NO such device
there is alreadya pid file /var/run/dhclient.eth0.pid with pid 134993416
Then lines about the DHCP CLient
SIOCSIFADDR: No such device
eth0: ERROR while getting interface flags: No such device
eth0: ERROR while getting interface flags: No such device
Bind socket to interface: No such device
Failed to bring up eth0
# sudo ethtool eth0 says there is no such device
# ifconfig -a
Tells me, I think(!) I have an eth1 not an eth0
with no IP address that I can see
RX packets 0 errors ) etc
and lo
with 127.0.0.1
RX packets 16 errors 0 etc...
# /etc/iftab Tells me:
eth0 mac 00:0c:29:69:be:e5: arp 1
Any ideas folks?
