This really doesn't have anything to do with 1.4. If you think you have a bug, please send an email to the list with instructions on how to reproduce (and a test case showing the problem that could be compiled and run would be really great as well). Or even better get the source code and debug the problem and submit a patch. After all that is what open source projects are all about.
