I have no idea; that's what the manufacturer (Shuttle) calls it in the
documentation that came with the case.

lspci gives me
00:11.5 Multimedia audio controller: VIA Technologies, Inc. VT8233 AC97
Audio Controller (rev 50)

/etc/sysconfig/hwconf gives me

class: AUDIO
bus: PCI
detached: 0
driver: via82cxxx_audio
desc: "VIA Technologies|VT8233 AC97 Audio Controller"
vendorId: 1106
deviceId: 3059
subVendorId: 1297
subDeviceId: c160
pciType: 1

That's what I did, as well; the complaint I have is that I have to do it
again, every boot.

Had to do this before, on an older machine (K6-2/P5A/Ensonique), from RH
7.1 forward; I put it down to it being an old motherboard, and didn't
worry about it, but having hit it again with something so bleeding edge
that the 2.5 kernels won't boot on it, I'm starting to wonder.

This was a clean install.

It's a beta, wouldn't expect errata.
