Over the years, I have run across 6 or 8 of these Diamond Discs with unground 
edges in general line antique shops nearby, and I live 5 hours away from West 
Orange.  Clearly, these records were not factory rejects, so I wouldn't 
classify all "unground edge" examples that way.  A few of mine appear to have a 
superior surface on one side - as if an extra layer of some finish had been 
applied to the Condensite.  For this reason, I believe that some DDs with 
unground 
edges were used for Tone Tests.
