I agree with you, the changes are not good, but the only way it will change is if it hits eBay in the wallet. Not being able to give buyers negative feedback would result in more accurate feedback in very, very few cases. The guy that sold me a cracked cylinder record that was cracked when he packed it and lied about it having insurance got positive feedback from me to avoid ruining my 100% feedback. Now I do not deal with clowns that leave mean feedback and I have been happy. I've been catching up on the list archives and noted a recent discussion about scrap drives and how many horns and phonographs succumed to the War effort. I'll mention that, for me at least, one of the more heartbreaking things about the drives was the fact that many original metal parts were thrown out by RCA and other companies. I did some research on an artist named Dwight Fiske that had several 78's custom pressed by RCA in the early 30's and the original index cards in the BMG archives noted when the masters for these were donated for scrap; it's tough to find decent copies of these today. I'm Randy Riddle and live in central NC. Primarily my interests are in collecting records, but I have some vintage machines - a tabletop and portable Victrolas and a portable (?) Lear wire recorder that also plays 78s. I'm interested in reading some of the in's and out's of the machines themselves. I've also become interested in collecting 16" transcription discs recently and I'm trying to decide on an inexpensive modern turntable to play those as well as my 78's. If anyone has experience with KAB's Transcriber 2 or the Rek-O-Kut CVS-16, I'd be interested in talking with you off the list. (I tried a vintange Gates broadcast table a few years back and wasn't pleased with all the rumble, btw.) Randy
