David,
As you mentioned, there are two types of 2/4 minute Columbia adapter kits. 
If you will post pictures of your Columbia 2/4 minute attachment, I can 
probably tell you if it will work on a BE. It has to be the kit with a round 
gear cluster on the end that has a small selector lever, if it is the other 
type, it won't work.
