I've had the same experience.  Wavy lines in my field of vision.  Mine happened for the first time 1.5months after transphen. surgery to remove a large pit tumor.  I was at work (lab at hospital).  I panicked thinking maybe there was bleeding going on at surgery site.  They cat-scanned me.  It was negative.  The next day went to my opthamologist.  He showed me pictures of what a migraine auro looked like.  It was exactly the same thing.  He told me to expect it again.  IT happened again about a month later.  THis time I was okay with it.  It lasts about 15 minutes per episode.  It has only happened those two times.   I told my surgeon about it.  I wanted to know if it was due to pituitary. He said no, that pathway of vision is further back(inside of brain) not pituitary that causes those episodes.  I don;t know anything else about it. It has not reoccured.. I also did not have headaches with it.
