Hi Chris!
I think one of Bill's biggest issues so far with his illness is that he feels out of control. So I do my best to back off and present him with facts and let him make up his mind when possible. Course sometimes I have to put my foot down for his own good. As far as recovery from surgery went Bill did fabulous. The dr had said like 3 weeks initially but he was back to work in only 10 days. Of course Bill is not one to stay down any longer than neccessary. He had surgery on a wed morning and went home fri around 2pm and kinda of laid around all weekend but come monday I was having to tied him down...not literally but you get my point. He was feeling better and I was having to preach rest and take it easy. By tues of the next week he was down to a pain med at bedtime and mainly because I insisted so he could rest well. By friday it was no more pain meds and he was back at work on the following monday...thank goodness cause any longer and I might have had to hurt him. LOL. I really think recovery depends on pain tolerance levels and taking care of yourself right initially...don't push too hard too fast and have a set back. When I was 13 I had MAJOR back surgery (2 steel rods and a spinal fusion). I was in the hospital 1 week and home from school 2 more...the last was sping break or I would probably have gone back sooner. I know I'm rambling but I think Ogy will come through the surgery fine. Bill did so much better than I ever expected. I was amazed. 48 hrs after brain surgery basically....24 hrs outta ICU and he's home. I am still thinking god. Do you have a surgery date yet? Let em know.
