 Hi Nick!

Did you all see Dr. McCutcheon or Dr. DeMonte? I have seen Dr. McCutcheon and really like him.

There is a very good neurosurgeon in Dallas, Dr. Bruce Mickey. I don't know very much about the other pituitary neurosurgeons up there.

The prolactin levels are indeed high enough to indicate a prolactinoma. The first line of treatment is with a dopamine agonist. I fully understand your wife's symptoms. Some of the symptoms are related to the medication, but some is actually the effect of lowering the prolactin levels. If the symptoms are just too bothersome, have her talk to her endocrinologist, as the endo may lower the dosage a bit and raise it later, once her tolerance improves.

If she is a non-responder to the dostinex, and her tumor grows, then they may consider surgery. I know how much your lives have been turned all topsey turvey since finding the tumor, and just wanted you to know that we really understand (((((hugs)))).

Thank you so much for sharing your experience!
