Hi Carla, I am in Australia and have recently found out that i have a micro-prolactinoma...it's 7mm...I guess we're lucky down here as i had a mri the day after i was referred. My prolactin level was 31 and my gp was not too concerned, in fact he sent me to an endocrinologist because of high insulin levels. I have been fatigued for years and put on 30kg despite a good diet and exercise. Although i have only been on medication for a few weeks, my prolactin level has dropped. I was told that the concern is if the tumour grows too big it can affect the optic nerve so maybe having your vision tested might be something that you can do while waiting for an mri. All i can say is that i wish you the very best in finding out what is going on for you and in the mean time getting as much info about other symptoms that you may have...it took me 4 years of badgering doc's to get a response! Good Luck! |
