Meri,

The lupron has been a blessing really. I was very adament about not taking it for awhile, but then gave in and decided to try it. I wish the side effects weren't so severe and I don't like the fact that I'm in menopause at 19 - but as for the endo pain - it's helped quite a bit. Before the lupron, I couldn't even be in the car for more than an hour without being in terrible pain.

I was diagnosed on June 30th via Lap. It was my first surgery and I was very nervous about it. I also had a hysteroscopy done at the same time. I went in to the OR at 9.30 and I was on my way home at 1 pm. I actually felt better the day of the surgery than I had in months. He didn't remove any endo because of the location, but he did remove a large polyp from my uterus that we believe was causing all of the bleeding and cramping. I still have alot of back pain from the endo, but the Lupron has helped it so much. If you haven't had a lap yet - it's a minimal surgery. I was up and around the next day and I felt totally normal in about a week. I'm probably going to have another one in December with a more competent doc who can remove the endo - and I'm hoping that I'll feel even better.

Lupron is a very personal choice. Alot of women will tell you they hated it. Since I'm still in college, and can't really miss classes - I had to try something to keep the pain at bay. Other than the hot flashes and night sweats, I'm feeling much better. It might work well for you, and it might not. I hope you find something that helps you out ASAP :) Let me know if you have any more questions. You're in my prayers as well :) Endo is such a horrible thing, but it has a way of bringing women together!

I'm going in to the doctor at 2.30 and will hopefully know more about my MRI then.

-Lindsey
