Dear Greg and Barry,

If my reading is correct, Barry you had your second surgery after the radiation. One neurosurgeon told me two years ago that it would be very difficult to operate on pituitary tumour after radiation; simply it would be like walking through a forest filled with undergrowth....

Did the neurosurgeon have to use special equipment like intra-operative MRI to assist?

I was recently told that the top neurosurgeons have gone back to microscopic surgery using intra-operative MRI to pinpoint any tumour cells not resected. That method is better than full endoscopic pit surgery. They found full endoscopic surgeries may not give them enough space to manoeuvre in that tight environment. Also endoscopes still cannot detect all the remnant tumour cells.

I wonder whether any visitors to this website have ideas on this topic?
