Hi Judy, My friend and partner also has a recurring pit. tumour [non secreting, 3x5cm's], seems it is pretty common. He wasn't told they got it all though, he knew they didn't. He had 2 operations almost 8 years ago and now it is slowly growing and threatening his eyesight again. He is an artist and teaches art for a living. He didn't have a pituitary neurosurgeon last time but he now has an appointment with one of the best in Canada on March 9 partly thanks to people on this board and other boards. I just got an email from the doc and he said to bring the MRI in and if necessary he will see my friend before March. I hope your neurologist is a pituitary specialist as everyone seems to think this is most important. From all I have read pituitary tumours [I am new to this, my friend isn't - but he doesn't type!] are not as bad as many other brain tumours........not that they aren't bad but they aren't malignant, grow slowly and can be removed. It looks like he will have to have another surgery and then maybe radiation. Radiation scares the hell out of me but I may be wrong in thinking that way. These forums are a great help and I thank those who replied to me earlier and hope they got my replies. take care of yourself, Betty |
