New Message on Pituitary Chat endos and surgeons Reply   Reply to Sender   Recommend Message 1 in Discussion From: Jude4310 Hi     I have acromegaly   age 54      1.3 cm macrodema  and I feel like a lost ship at sea.    I live in Chicago .   With this rare disease you would think there would be endos out there that would want to treat you.   That is the one I want to find.    Since I am such a rare bird..................      I am thankful for you all,  I am frustated, sad,  and hopeful too.    I still have not gotten the official diagnosis with the more complete blood work up.   I do know that my growth hormone is double the amount.    I go in Friday to an endo, who has only seen 6 people in his practice of 25 years with acromegaly.  Needless to say I have to find another endo.          In looking for a surgeon.     Is it like shopping??????????    I am pretty good at that.........      Do you have to have a refferal in hand to go to a surgeon.?      I realize the surgeon is the key.     How many surgeons did you all see before you decided.?????     Chicago is a pretty big city......but not having a specialty clinic for endocronolgy makes me skeptical..                                          Sincerely  Jude4310 View other groups in this category.
