I'll try to make a long story short... I began losing my vision, had an MRI and a tumor was discovered. I had the Macrodenoma, which had ruptured, removed with by transfanoidal. Unfortuneately, he had to cut my pituitary completely in half to remove all of the tumor. Luckily, I did regain my eyesight. However, I now have Diabetes Insipidus due to the severe damage to my Pituitary gland. Something I wouldn't wish upon my worst enemy!! Alot of people I have spoken to, are surprised to find out that I was never told to see an Endo after my surgery. Does anyone else here find that unusual? Since my surgury, I have a multitude of symtoms I didn't have before. Such as: Excessive weight gain, (specifically in my face and belly area), severe fatigue, memory loss, complete loss of sexual drive, and that's just mentioning a few. I see different deseases like Cushings mentioned. Can damage to a Pit gland cause these deaseses, or just simply give off the same syptoms? I guess what I'm really asking is, if my gland was damaged during the surgery, is there any medicine out there that can help me? I sometimes feel as if I survived this surgery merely to become a prisoner in my own house. HELP! |
