Hi all,
I had my radiologist appt. yesterday and as I posted before hand, I was "nervous and scared" about not knowing what was in store.  That is really not like me, but the whole ordeal since finding out about my tumor recurring and also being diagnosed with pre-diabetes has been tough.  Anyways, I had a nice chat with the radiologist and he showed me my MRI films from the last several years.  WOW! The tumor was showing itself pretty clearly by May of 2003 and here I am with it bigger and very close to the optic nerve again.  Well, last time it was pressing on it.  I was given a DVD about the whole procedure of the Gamma Knife and it shows the whole process.  It sounds like an good thing to have done in the future, but the radiologist said that he pretty much reccommends having surgery first and then about 6 months to a year later having the gamma knife done.  He said it will keep growing back so the gamma treatment will need to be done to stop it all together.

So, now I wait and and see what will happen now because the radiologist needs to get another opinion from another neurologist/radiologist and then talk to my neurosurgeon.  I will probably know by next week.

I will keep in touch as to how things come together.

Judy
