Hi all.
I was diagnosed with a macro about 11 years ago. Had visual field problems, headaches ..the works.
Bromocriptine was successful in reducing tumor size and bringing prolactin levels to normal.
My last full check was 5 years ago. everything looked good...still microadenoma...low prolactin levels.
I do not regularly see an endo like I should....so don't yell at me :) Back in October I went to see my gp for a physical. I asked that she also run a prolactin level while doing all my other blood work. fasting prolactin came back as 54. I have been planning to make an appt w/ an endo...but haven't yet. Recently, a bell went off in my head...
I've noticed weight gain
I've been having some hot flashes
Left sided headaches...not alot like they were when macro, but not uncommon either....makes me want to dig my eye out with a spoon.
I have now made an appt with an endo...but it's going to take me 6 weeks to get in. I guess my question is, what do you prolactinoma experts think? Is my prolactinoma growing? My prolactin level wasn't THAT high..but the levels are also from 5 months ago.
any thoughts appreciated. |
