Hey there- Your situation sounds similar to mine.  I was diagnosed with a prolactinoma back in 2001 (prolactin was 115, microadenoma) and was prescribed Dostinex.  After a year, my prolactin dropped to 18 and my MRI showed a 20% reduction in the tumor size.  I stopped taking the medication because of the side effects- headaches and excruciating heavy periods, also because the medication is so expensive.  Yadda yadda- excuses, excuses.  So after a year or so being off the meds- my periods started to get lighter, I gained about 15 lbs,  and I started getting breast discharge.  (talk about embarassing esp. when you first start dating someone)  I decided to seek out a new doc who started me back on the meds and now I am considered 'compliant.'  (hehe).

Anyway- so it sounds like your symptoms are returning which is a sure sign the darn thing is back.  I am no 'expert' but I believe an elevated prolactin more or less correlates with an increase in tumor size which may be why you have those side effects you mentioned.  Having to wait 6 weeks to know for sure isn't fun but hey- at least you are going!

Good Luck!
