All pituitary patients, regardless of tumor type, should be in contact with their endocrinologists pre and post surgery. It isn't a cushings thing. Surgeons aren't endos and quite frankly, they cut and leave endocrine follow up to the endocrinologists.

There are two immediate care abouts post surgery - how the adrenals are functioning, and how the thyroid is functioning.

The pituitary controls both.

With you being an acromeglic, your endo will also want to set you up on regular follow ups to monitor your disease activity and to see if the surgery was indeed sucessful. With acromegaly, it takes time (several weeks) for the surgical outcome to be endocrinologically (clinically) confirmed. It is very good news that you are noticing changes!

Actually, this would be a good topic for you to discuss with your endo tomorrow... why should you see him?
