Yes it sounds like the same thing is happening to you.  It must be nornal.  The first thing I noticed was a wrotten, fishy smell in my right nostril.  I happened to be going back to Pittsburgh for a 1month followup.  I mentioned it to the surgeon (he said it was normal) and he sent me to the ENT Dr who assisted with the surgery.  They manually removed this monster size plug from the back of the nose (they formed at entry site of surgery) I felt like I was having a baby thru the nose.  I immediately started breathing better and the smell was gone.  It did scare me though.  My next appt was scheduled for 6months later.  In the meantime, about 1month later I could smell it and feel it in the back of my nose.  I went to my local ENT Dr and explained to him what was going on.  (he has done pituitary work here in my hometown).  He said he would be glad to help. He removed another plug and told me I needed to keep my nose moisturized.  I told him that the saline spray they gave me in Pittsburgh was only drying my nose more.. He told me what else I could use and I can;t remember the name of the product but it was wonderfull.  It really helped.  I will try to find out what it was.  (it is over the counter).  I did not inform my doctors in Pittsburgh and everything went alright.   These will keep forming for months.  But they will lessen in size as time goes by.  Eventully I could dislodge them myself by snorting but they always ended up in my throat and I felt like I could have choked on them.  It seems like it took about 8-10 months for it to clear up.
