Kadiya- I don't mean to scare ya- but what you are listing sounds an aweful lot like acromegaly- Especially the changes in shoe size and ring size. I had almost all the symptoms you've listed- Hot flashes, break out in 'nervous sweating' at the drop of a hat- night sweats so bad I wake up drenched from head to toe- hair soakiung wet- Dizzy, mental actuity diminished as well etc etc etc. One thing you can look for is an enlarged brow ridge- Where I notice mine them ost is on the side of the eyebrow (Infact me & family were just looking through my MRI film today at the skeletal bone structure & sure enough- it's enlarged) Have you noticed maybe your lips swelling up? Toungue? Before I had my surgery, I snored something aweful- My family says that now, after the surgery I snore much less loudly. For 14 years, my doctors told me my exhaustion and muscle weakness was due to nothign more than My Crohn's disease & never investigated further insisting that my complaints were "normal for Crohn's" - Now, I'm permanently disfigured (Although not severe- you'd really have to know what you were looking for with acromegaly in order to see it). The soft tissue swelling that acromegally causes will go down to normal after surgery, buit the bone growth will not from what I understand. Please don't let stubborn arrogant doctors do the same to you. We finally got a new doctor in our town & the very first meeting I had with him, he asked me how I was doing & I explained a couple of the symptoms I was experiencing (At hte time I had NO idea what acromegally even was- I had looked up adrenal fatigue on the internet because I ran across some info & it sounded like some of hte symptoms I was having & so I listed them and gave them to the Doc) He asked me just one question "How's your libido"- that's it- I said "Aweful- doesn't exist hardly" He said "I think you have hormone problems which could be causing some of this fatigue"- He ordered tests & recommeded an endocrinologist & the rest is history- they found the tumor & diagnosed Acromegally right away. My gosh- I'll tell ya- 14 years of suffering when I didn't have to- not to mention the fact that the tumor could have caused blindness or stroke! Very Very frustrating. YES it's very hard explaining symptoms to Docs and getting them to take you seriously- I do understand the frustration you're feeling. |
