Jean,

Alot has happened in 5 years.

Dr. Laws is doing the endonasal approach now, as is Dr. Post, Dr. Kassam, Dr. Krisht, Dr. Kelly, Dr. Schwartz, Dr. McCutcheon (on some cases), Dr. Delashaw (on some cases), Dr. Swearingen, Dr. Rosseau, amongst others. I believe Dr. Black at Cedars Sinai also does the endonasal approach.

These are board-certified neurosurgeons.

Dr. Shahinian is a general surgeon who does skull base surgery. He is not a neurosurgeon. The PTNA is a paid listing. Their advertisements are paid.

It is important for patients to be referred to neurosurgeons who have specialized in the treatment of pituitary tumors. I know of some pituitary patients who need craniotomies, and with those patients, I encourage them to go to larger centers who actually have brain tumor programs as well.
