mhill- I had the endonasal surgery (Which is slightly different than the endoscopic- endonasal, they still use the microscope, whereas with endoscopic they use an endoscope- but still, they went in through the nasal passage & didn't have to cut anything but the sella) I was out aND WALKIing around the next day- no nasal packing, no catheters, nothing- I had slight nasal dripping, but nothing major- just carried a few kleenex with me. I highl;y recommend and commend the endo approach to tumors. That's not to say that complications can't still happen- BUT the chances ARE greatly reduced with the endo apprtoach. IF everyhting goes well & you don't experience complications- I think you'll be very pleased with the results. The older method of tumor surgery required long stays i nthe hospital- resulted in facial swelling, eye swelling, black and blue around eyes and nose etc- Not so with the endo approach. There was VERY little pain after for me- infact, the small incision on the belly where they harvested the fat plug from hurt more- but still it wasn't bad at all- hardly noticeable.

Sounds like you'll be in good hands with the Doc you chose.
