One thing is for certain, you need to be ready in the event you have adrenal fatigue.  Be prepared in the event you need to get medical attention.  I ended up in the ER today.  To make a long story short, I was having problems with adrenal function, no extra steriods, and sick with an upper respiratory infection.  I called the endo on call at my pituitary doctor's office (which is 5 hours from my home) and was instructed to go to the nearest major hospital for treatment.  She told me that if I had any problems to have the doctor in the ER to call her.  She assured me that any major hospital would be able to take care of me.  So off I went to a Top 10 Hospital and basically the doctor didn't believe me.  He said he thought that I had a viral infection, but he could see no evidence of adrenal insufficiency.  I told him to call the pit doctor.  He conferred with the pit doc and she instructed him what to do.  Once the ER doc learned what he needed to do, I still had to lay in the ER waiting for the steriod IV drug from the pharmacy for an hour!  Can you imagine if someone in a full blown adrenal crisis would come through the ER room unable to speak up for themself?  I told the ER doc exactly what was going on, but he did't believe a word of it.  I mean, what would I know??  I'm an uneducated patient, and the ER doc went through how many years of medical education???
