Well, we got bad news on Tuesday when we went to my husbands appt.  The MRI showed that the size of the tumor is only slightly smaller than the pre-surgery size.  When they did his surgery they really thought that they had got the entire tumor because it came out so easily, but apparently they just gutted it.  So the rhine is left and still about 4cm.  Our neurosurgeon told us that we really don't have any options other than conventional radiation.  He said that they tumor is still too big for any type of focused radiation, so that rules out gamma knife or any of the others.  He also let us know that if we just monitor it, there is 100% chance of further growth.

Anyway, we see an oncologist this coming Tuesday, June 21st.  We are hoping the neurosurgeon is wrong and that we will be able to do focused radiation.  But if not, has anyone out there ever gone through conventional radiation for a pit tumor.  Can you tell us what it was like?  My husband is really hoping that he will be able to work during the 4-6 weeks that the radiation will last.
