Hi flika, I have never posted on the site either. I wasn't sure how, so here goes. I am 27 and my husband and I are ready to start a family. I too have a non-functioing pituitary adenoma that was originally 7mm and now measures 9.9 but they won't touch it until it is over 1cm. I have constant pressure, blurriness and spots, throbbing behind my right eye and also get a puffy face, cold intolerance, and a very scrooged up monthly cycle which I have never had in my life since last year even being a competative runner for the past 11 years. Before I was diagnosed I had sinus surgery to remove a cyst and correct a severly deviated septum, they thought that it would relieve the pain and pressure I felt. It has helped with breathing and snoring but the achy pain returned. I have seen two ENT doctors who say that my pain and pressure is from that little ol tumor being right right next to my optic nerve. My endo on the other hand says that it is too small to be causing problems since it is non-functioning. So I am in the same boat and very frustrated. In addition to that lil bugger, I also tested positive for a pheochormocytoma this past Sept. which they cannot seem to locate, and has pushed back starting a family even more. I may have something called MENS Syndrome. It all deals with the endocrine system. I am currently on a Beta blocker which has helped to relieve some pain and pressure, along with a tumor specific medicine called Dibenzyline, which makes me soooo tired. My uncle has a pituitary tumor and my grandmother currently has terminal thyroid cancer which they cannot do the biopsy right now to figure what type. Lori :) |
