Did he mention why he prefers Bromocriptine over Dostinex?

Some do better on Bromocriptine as far as the symptoms go, while others do
better on Dostinex. Dostinex tends to be more expensive (if you buy the name
brand), but now there is a generic available. There are studies that compare
the effectiveness of Dostinex and Bromocriptine. Perhaps those would be
helpful to you?

I think you need to chat with your doctor to understand why he chose the way
he did. I am glad you are tolerating the medication well :).
