Penny, New reference ranges have been recommened since 2003, for thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH) of 0.3 to 2.5, it's just not all labs (or drs.) use that range. So when you look at the new range, maybe that is one less thing to worry about. I wonder about the growth hormone too. I understand from reading there are different tests like the insulin tolerance test and the GH-releasing hormone test you should ask (tell) your endo to do on you to find out if you are GH deficient. A normal blood test won't work because it just shows a picture of your blood at the time you gave it and hormone levels change throughout the day. My labs are similar to yours: GH <1 lab range of <10 (twice this has been 0) and IGF-1 of 137 lab range 94-252 my TSH goes from .68 to 1.13 (but I don't worry about this one.) Glucose bounces from 80 to 126 lab range 65 to 99, alwyas a fasting glucose. I have just made an appointment with an endo that specializes in pit issues only and am hopeful that I will get some better answers then it's all in your head, or your just post-menopausal. As if being post-menopausal is something to call just, lol. Have a great weekend, Anne |
