Janel Why would you wait? Your pituitary and your optic nerves are very close. So if the tumor grows big enough it will do permanent damage to your optic nerve......your vision! The definition of big enough is still small, in other words there isn't a lot of room. Many doctors treat irregular periods with the Pill and doctors also prescribe anti-depressants for depression. Both are symptoms of a pit tumor, which makes treating the symptoms that way useless. Too many doctors are treating symptoms instead of curing the problem. What about children? Do you or are you planning to have them? Also as you get older there is a greater chance of bone loss/osteoporosis when you have a pituitary tumor. My mother has lost 9" in height from osteoporosis. I don't understand how you could let someone else determine your health. If your doctor won't refer you..........just go and pay out of pocket to see an Endocrinologist. Whether you like it or not any decision that you make is your decision and you better be willing to live with the outcome. |
